A Pimperne landlord needed to prepare an industrial unit for food industry tenants, requiring complete rodent-proofing and weatherproofing, so they approached Crocker Cladding. Project Outline
The challenge was straightforward but critical. This factory unit had served its purpose for years with basic single-skin cladding, but that solution no longer matched the requirements of incoming tenants working in food production. The landlord needed a complete overhaul that would transform the building into a fully insulated, rodent-proof facility while maintaining cost efficiency and minimal disruption.
The work needed to address both the roof and front elevation, replacing outdated materials with modern insulated panel systems that would protect the building for decades while meeting strict food industry compliance standards.





What We Did
Our team began with a systematic approach, starting with the roof where we stripped away the old single-skin cladding and replaced it with 120mm Kingspan insulated panels. This new system provides superior thermal performance while creating an impenetrable barrier against pests and weather ingress.
Once the roof was secure, we moved to the front elevation, where we installed 80mm Kingspan insulated cladding throughout. The landlord selected an olive-green finish to complement the neighbouring units, creating visual consistency across the industrial estate while giving the building a fresh, professional appearance.
We completed the transformation with new perimeter flashings around all roller and personnel doors, ensuring every potential entry point was properly sealed. Finally, we installed a complete guttering system with new downpipes to manage water drainage effectively and protect the building's longevity.

The transformation exceeded expectations on every level. What was once a basic, outdated industrial unit now stands as a modern, fully compliant facility ready for food industry operations.
