Breathing New Life for Morgan Vale Primary School
Morgan Vale Primary School were looking for ways to bring a new lease of life into one of their classrooms.
The exterior of the building was grey and old and was showing signs of wear and tear, making it visually unattractive and setting poor expectations for the interior.
The school contacted the team at Crocker Cladding to see what we could do to liven it up.
The Project Outline
The main focus of this project was to improve the exterior look of this small classroom.
There were three parts to this:
- A new single-ply membrane roof
- New composite cladding on the exterior walls
- New staircase and decking for access
What We Did
This was a fairly simple project for the team and with a bit of organisation was efficiently executed.
Firstly, we visited the school to get an idea of the current state of the building. On this site visit, we discussed with key figures in the project what they were looking to achieve and any ideas they already had. We were able to provide expert guidance and knowledge, resulting in a plan of action that everyone was excited about.
While being next to the building, we also took measurements so that we could design to scale and supply enough of the materials.
We left the site having scheduled a date in the diary for the installation of the roof, cladding and decking.
With all the materials sourced, we arrived on site ready to complete the work.
We started by removing the existing roof and replacing it with a single-ply membrane roof. From there, the team moved on to fitting the composite cladding system to the exterior of the walls. Along with the staff involved in the project, we chose composite cladding that had a wood-like look to it.
With all the panels in place, we finally moved on to removing the old staircase and decking.
We then installed a new staircase next to the side door, providing side access to the building. Finally, we installed the new decking, fencing and gate along the front of the building, creating the main access for the children.

The End Result
The result is an attractive classroom that has been brought to life.
The cladding has brightened up the exterior of the building, creating a welcoming look that makes you want to enter the space.
Additionally, the new decking and staircase enhance the visual appearance and enable those walking on it to feel confident they are safe from slipping.
The materials used were selected with longevity in mind. Every aspect of our work uses materials that are able to withstand extreme weather conditions without damage, so they will look newer for longer.
